You must register IMEI of each telephone set by linking it with the subscriber's SIM card.

"From January 1, 2019, a mobile operator is prohibited to provide cellular services for a cellular subscriber device, details of which are not included in the subscriber mobile subscriber device identification codes database or do not correspond to the information entered in the subscriber mobile subscriber device identification database "- said. Chairman of the Telecommunications Committee of the MIC RK Vitaly Yaroshenko in the Central Communications Service during a press conference on the registration of IMEI codes in the RK.

As Vitaly Yaroshenko notes, subscriber devices serviced in the network of a cellular operator until January 1, 2019 are automatically registered by him in the local system and transferred to the identification code database. For a subscriber, registration of a communication device is free of charge.

The need for registration is provided for by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 28, 2017 “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Information and Communications”, and changes were made to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Communications” in terms of registering subscriber cellular communication devices.

The rules of registration of subscriber cellular communication devices are approved by the order of the Acting Minister of Information and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 23, 2018  No. 226, registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan  June 11, 2018.

“Subscriber cellular communication devices manufactured in the Republic of Kazakhstan and imported to the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including those operating in cellular networks of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the exception of mobile subscriber devices located in the Republic of Kazakhstan in roaming or intended for machine-to-machine interaction, ”the speaker emphasized.

He also said that for the registration (re-registration) of a cellular subscriber's device, its owner provides information about:

1 ) IIN (for an individual) or BIN (for a legal entity);

2 ) identification code of the subscriber's cellular communication device;

3 ) subscriber numbers used in the registered subscriber cellular communication device.

It is worth noting that the registration procedure (re-registration), as well as the removal from registration of a subscriber cellular communication device is carried out for individuals up to 4 business hours, for legal entities up to 8 business hours.

Registration of a cellular subscriber unit by minors aged fourteen to eighteen years of age is done with the consent of their legal representatives.

Registration of a cellular subscriber unit for minors under the age of fourteen (minors) is performed on their behalf by legal representatives.
